The New Zealand Prime Minister John Key unveiled a newly refurbished resettlement center, for refugees and said that” we can give them best start possible” .
The Prime Minister spoke at a reopening ceremony, which has been rebuilt to welcome the refugees to New Zealand.
“This is a very important day for refugees who are resettling in New Zealand, This center here speaks to the world that we are ready to do our bit” Mr Key said.
We recognize it is very challenging for people resettling here. It is important we give them the best start possible.
It is important that people get the care, love and support they need. Some come from very war stricken or terrible circumstances and need a lot of support.
There are a great many stories of families coming here and doing well and making a real contribution to New Zealand society. But it is important to resettle refugees around the country.
The new buildings would be able to support a sudden intake at short notice.
